100 Podcast Episode: My Journey (and Lessons) So Far

I cannot believe we are at episode 100 of the Strategy in Small Doses Podcast! Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate each and every one of you. So I thought this would be a great episode to talk about starting a podcast, why I chose it, and what the experience has been like for me thus far. Podcasting is not for everybody. It’s not a magic pill that automatically starts bringing in clients, nor does it grow itself. And it doesn’t just magically start bringing in clients. Here’s what I have found to be so rewarding and amazing about podcasting.

A podcast is a great way to communicate.

I definitely communicate best in video and audio. If you are someone, like me, who enjoys and shows up best by speaking, it’s such a powerful way to really amplify your voice and just put your best content out there. This one thing that I really really struggled with for a long time in my business.

You can repurpose your podcast into other forms of content.

Since I show up best just by speaking, it allows me to put my best content out there. I can then repurpose that content in different ways. Also, I repurpose it to YouTube, TikTok, and in written form. It goes into my Facebook group and onto my LinkedIn. You can take one podcast episode and make multiple pieces of content out of it. That, in itself, has been a really powerful tool.

You can create this really great value post from it, and a really awesome call to action style post in written form. There is so much that you can do so much with it. You can share it in a million different ways on all the different platforms.

My podcast has increased my confidence.

It really has given me a level of confidence that I really didn’t even know I was lacking until I started just diving in. When I turn on my camera and mic and have an outline of my episode lined up, I am speaking from a place of confidence and integrity. I am speaking authentically and from the heart. There’s nothing that makes me feel more empowered than that.

I can show up as my best self on my podcast. Which means I’m giving you quality content. I know that it’s going to resonate with the right people. That’s a level of confidence that I didn’t even know I was lacking until I started doing it.

A podcast allows you to meet other entrepreneurs.

If you bring on guests, there’s a huge opportunity to meet new people through podcasting. One of the most amazing things that happened to me since I started this podcasting journey was when somebody commented on my LinkedIn one day about my podcasts. I put a post up, and she has been listening to all my podcasts. She told me she was a huge fan of my work. It was the most humbling moment.

When you are podcasting, you don’t even realize how you’re impacting other people. That’s the power of podcasting. There’s so many ways people can just find your podcast. And you never know how it’s going to resonate and change somebody or impact them.

My podcast has allowed me to release perfectionism.

One of the reasons that I’ve been able to maintain consistency and get to 100 episodes was because I released all of the levels of perfectionism. I just get on here and talk. You can’t even begin to imagine the amount of people who tell me they feel like I’m sitting right here next to them and just having a conversation. with them.

That’s what I wanted it to feel like. I didn’t want it to feel overly produced or super scripted. So, I don’t do any editing. That’s what has allowed me to maintain this level of consistency with it. My episodes are short and sweet. I wanted to be able to jump on, share my thoughts, and jump off. As a result, my content is real, and it really resonates. When I took the pressure off myself, that’s what’s allowed me to really show up,

Something to consider.

Podcasting is powerful. But what you need to ask yourself is how you best show up. Because whatever that is, is what is going to really connect with your audience. There is so much power to having a podcast, and I don’t even utilize it to its fullest. But that’s one of the things that I’m really trying to do in 2022, really amplify and increase my marketing around it. I do want more people listening because I do know that it’s my best content and that it’s resonating with others.

I just wanted to share my podcast journey.

I wanted to share all of the things that I didn’t expect to happen through podcasting. For example, I never expected for somebody to send me a message telling me that they were my biggest fan. It’s just been such an amazing journey. I’ve been able to connect with people in such a powerful and authentic way

It has not even been a full year since I launched my podcast and I have 100 episodes. That doesn’t mean that you have to dive in and get 100 episodes. Dive in and release one a month, or release one a week. You can even release 12 in a season, and then take time off. There’s so much flexibility with it. So just release the pressure, all of the shoulds, and the perfectionism.

Is a podcast on your vision board?

Do you have this vision to create a podcast? If so, my message to you is…Go do it! Just release the pressure and figure it out as you go. Just know it can always change. So just go and do it because there really is so much power in it. It’s such a beautiful, beautiful way to connect with your audience.

I would like to know if you have a favorite episode.

Is there an episode that resonated with you? I would be so grateful if you shared that with me in my Facebook Group. Please let me know if my podcast has helped you in any way. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am happy to talk to you and share all about it. Here’s to another 100 episodes. I cannot wait to continue to share it and be on this journey with you.
