Are You Only Doing Half Of The Work?

If you’re only willing to do half of the work, then you have to be willing to accept half the results. Did I hit a nerve? Sorry, not sorry. I joined a new gym recently and one of the trainers was helping me stretch one day and totally called me out. I’m going to do the same for you. Let’s talk about how you might only be doing half of the work in your business.

 

Half of the work = half the results.​​

I started a workout program and started working with a trainer at a gym. As we were discussing my habits, he learned that I was not getting in as much protein as I was supposed to. When he found that out, he brought it to my attention that I was only doing half of the work. He was totally right and definitely called me out. I couldn’t expect to achieve the results that I desired if I was only doing half of the work. It made me think about how often we only do half of the work in our businesses. ​​The bottom line is if you’re only willing to do half of the work, then you can only expect half of the results.

 

What does doing half of the work look like?

Let’s say you have created a program.  This program is amazing, but it’s not selling the way you wanted it to. However, you’re also not putting it out there and talking about it like you should. This, my friend, is an example of only doing half the work. Creating an amazing program is only HALF of what you need to do. You also have to tell people about how amazing it is and why they need it. If you aren’t talking about it, then you can’t expect the full results you hoped for.

Here’s another example. Let’s say conversion in your business has slowed down even though you have been posting content like crazy. But we all know that in the online space, posting content is only half of the work. If you aren’t engaging with people in your comments or engaging with people on their content, having conversations, and making connections, then you are only doing half of the work. You cannot have conversion without first creating a connection. In order to do that, you have to engage with people first.

 

This can be a hard truth.

I know that it might sting a little, but I will always be honest with you. It can also be a truth that can help you step up your game when it comes to your business.
