The Importance of Know, Like, Trust

Has there ever been a product or service out there that you have followed, but hesitated to buy because you didn’t actually know the people selling it and quite honestly – you just weren’t sure if you could trust them? I have! There is one, in particular, I have been following for years and have seen hundreds of people sharing about it.  BUT…I never purchased it because I didn’t know or trust any of them well enough to actually give them my money. Until BOOM – someone I knew personally and loved as a person started using and promoting the product and, my entire perspective changed. This is why TRUST is so important.

 

When someone has trust in you, questions are removed.

There is no question of whether or not it’s a good product or if it works. Questions around pricing go away when someone has a know, like, trust factor. The example I gave about the product and my friend really was a beautiful reminder to me. So now I’m sharing it with you. I know people talk about this all the time. But the reality is that it’s still so important. 

Think about know, like, trust like this…do you know your audience? Does your audience know you? Have you allowed them to understand you, who you are, and your values? 

 

Here’s another example where know, like, trust mattered.

A woman I met in the online space applied to the Accelerated Business Alliance. Now this woman is somebody I met 4-5 years ago when I first started in the online space. She pops in and out on my social platforms and such. She went straight to the application for the Accelerated Business Alliance. One of the questions asks, “What makes you want to apply or why are you interested in joining the alliance?” Her answer was, “Because I know you, Michelle. And I know everything that you do is of high quality. Anything you do I want to be a part of.” That’s the know, like, trust factor. 

She doesn’t know a whole lot about the Alliance. But she felt as though she knew me, she liked me, and she trusted me enough that no matter what I was putting out there, it was with the same values with the same integrity. And she wanted to be a part of it. 

 

Don’t be afraid to let people get to know, like, and trust you for who you are.

I talk about this all the time in the R.O.U.T.E Framework under Target Market. What are your values and your clients’ values? You need to bring these things up because those are the things that are going to attract the right fit clients. This is the true definition of know, like, and trust. 

It’s one thing for me to put all this other random shit on social media. I can talk about how great the alliance is, my laser coaching program, and do all of these things. But what draws people to me is the fact that I stand in integrity. I’ve allowed them to get to know me, and I’ve shared about some of my personal life. And I’m also not afraid to share some of my vulnerabilities or to share when things don’t work out. These are the things that really allow you to get to know somebody.

 

Connecting with people allows them to truly know you and trust you.

This is why I tell everyone to do Coffee Chats. People think they’re a waste of time. But they immediately allow you to connect with people on a different level. They allow people to get to know you because they can see your face, your mannerisms, and your passion. People tell me when I start talking about the Alliance on a coffee call that they can see the passion is just oozing out of me. When I can talk to people and really share my vision for it, that’s when everything changes.

 

So I really want you to think about this…

Does your audience know you, like you, and trust you? Do you know, like, and trust your audience? TRUST IS MUTUAL! If you can’t say that, then I want to challenge you to go change that. Go get to know them. Let them get to know you. Figure out what you need to do to get them to like you and trust you. 

I can guarantee some of that is having conversations with them. Getting a little vulnerable and sharing a little bit more than just your standard everyday content that you put out there. It makes a huge difference. Go get your clients to know, like, and trust you.
