If you’re constantly jumping from one strategy to the next and still not seeing results, this might be the reason your business feels exhausting. Many service-based entrepreneurs struggle with staying focused, which leads to burnout, inconsistent revenue, and stalled growth. In this episode, we break down how focusing on one business strategy can simplify your path and help you generate real results.
If you’re unsure what strategy you should be focusing on right now, start with the Business Growth Quiz to get clarity on your next move.
I remember exactly what it felt like.
Scrolling through social media…
Seeing someone celebrate a massive launch…
Watching another person share how one strategy changed everything…
And feeling that pull. That quiet but persistent thought: “What if I’m missing something?”
Not in a dramatic way. Just enough to make you question what you’re doing. Just enough to make you pivot. Again.
Maybe you’ve been there too.
You start implementing something. You’re a few weeks in. And then you see something else.
A new strategy.
A new program.
A new way that “works better.”
So you shift. And then you shift again. And before you realize it… You’ve never actually given anything enough time to work.
Why Focusing on One Business Strategy Feels So Hard
The online space is constantly showing you:
- New strategies
- New offers
- New ways to grow faster
And it creates this subtle pressure.
This constant exposure creates a form of strategy-based FOMO, even if you don’t consciously think of it that way.
It’s not just fear of missing out. It’s fear of choosing wrong.
How Strategy Hopping Is Causing Burnout
Let’s call this out clearly.
Every time you switch strategies, you are starting over.
Not adjusting. Not refining. Starting over.
Which means:
- You reset your momentum
- You delay your results
- You increase your workload
Imagine trying to build five different puzzles at once using mixed pieces.
That’s what your business feels like when you’re pulling strategies from everywhere.
Why You’re Not Seeing Results (Even Though You’re Doing the Work)
This is where most people get frustrated.
Because you are working. You are learning. You are trying.
But results require one thing most people don’t give:
Time. Consistency.
Results don’t come from starting. They come from sticking.
And if you never stay long enough to see something through, you never get the return.
The Truth: Every Strategy Works (But Not for You)
This is the shift that changes everything. Every strategy works. Someone can prove it.
But that doesn’t mean it works for you. Because your strengths matter.
Your preferences matter. Your consistency matters.
For example: You might see someone scaling through content, but if you hate content and can’t stay consistent with it…
It won’t work for you. Not because it’s a bad strategy. But because it’s not aligned.
Why Focus Creates Faster Results
When you focus on one strategy:
- You build momentum
- You get better at it
- You gather real data
- You refine instead of restart
And that’s where results come from. From committing to something.
How to Choose the Right Strategy to Focus On
This is where most people get stuck.
So let’s simplify it.
Start With What Has Already Worked
Go back into your business and ask:
- What has brought in clients before?
- What has generated conversations?
- What has felt natural or enjoyable?
You don’t need a brand new strategy.
You need to double down on what’s already proven.
Look at Your Data (Not Just Your Feelings)
This is critical.
Because your brain will tell you:
“That didn’t work.”
But the data might say otherwise.
As highlighted in the episode , most people abandon strategies before they’ve actually given them enough time or consistency to succeed.
Choose One and Commit
This is the hardest part.
Pick one:
- One offer
- One marketing strategy
- One primary focus
And commit to it.
Not for a week. Not until it feels uncomfortable. But long enough to actually measure results.
What Happens When You Stop Chasing Everything
This is where things start to feel different.
Lighter. Clearer. More controlled.
Because instead of asking: “What should I do next?”
You’re asking: “How do I make this work better?”
That’s a completely different level of thinking.
How Do You Know If You’re Struggling With Strategy Overload?
- You frequently change direction or offers
- You feel overwhelmed by all the options
- You consume more content than you implement
- You start things but rarely finish them
- You feel busy but not productive
The Real Cost of Not Focusing
It’s not just lost time.
It’s:
- Missed clients
- Inconsistent revenue
- Mental exhaustion
- Loss of confidence
Because every time you start over, you reinforce the belief that nothing works.
When in reality… You just didn’t stay long enough to see it through.
What to Do Next
Start by asking one simple question: What is FOMO actually costing me right now?
Then:
- Mute or unfollow anything that pulls your focus
- Identify one strategy that has worked before
- Commit to it for the next 60 to 90 days
- Track your results consistently

Have you ever had those feelings of FOMO when you see somebody post about how their new Strategy landed them 10 new clients, or how a certain, you know, you see these screenshots of people saying, like, they’re celebrating their client because they implemented said strategy, and it creates this, like, oh, my gosh, this fear inside of you, like, oh, my God, I might be missing out. Maybe this is exactly what I need. Maybe I should jump ship and try this, right?
Do you find yourself just consistently jumping ship and trying new strategy, new strategy, new strategy, because you’re afraid that if you commit to one strategy that you’re gonna miss out on that next best thing? Trust me, I get it. I’ve been there, I’ve done it. I’ve seen clients do it over and over.
And I can tell you right now that this state of living in fomo, or lack of focus, whatever you want to call it, it’s actually costing you the growth and the revenue and the clients and all the things that you’re chasing. It’s costing you that. Right? And so we’re diving in today, in today’s episode, we’re going to talk all about that.
We’re going to talk about how it’s actually leading you to burnout and how you can actually flip the script and get focused and feel good about it. Okay, you ready? Let’s dive in. So let’s talk about fomo. I mean, that word, like, we’ve heard it all.
Like, how many people say, like, if you go to an event and you’re not there, like, we have fomo. And so that might be what you’re thinking when you see that and you’re hearing that.
It was like, I don’t really have this fear of missing out, but there is this culture around, in the online space of like, this FOMO around strategy, right?
This inability to commit to one thing and one focus, because you are so afraid that you are going to miss out on that one opportunity or that next best strategy, or that next best offer, or the, you know, somebody’s going to create a new program and one or two people are going to have amazing results from it, and you’re going to miss out. And so you’re constantly finding yourself jumping and watching and looking and not committing to one thing, right?
And it’s keeping you in this state of, like, this inconsistency. It creates this constant cycle of inconsistency and lack of results. Because let’s just be honest, like, results do not happen overnight, right?
And so somebody might post that they launched a New offer and it sold, sold, and they sold out their, you know, their offer and it made them a hundred thousand dollars or fifty thousand dollar launch. I see this all the time. But you have no idea what’s on the back end of that. You have no idea how long they’ve been in business. You have no money.
You have no idea how many other failed launches they have. You have. There’s so many things that you don’t really know, right?
And so what it you, all it’s really doing is causing you to take a strategy that you started to implement, you’re leaving it behind, and then you’re starting over all the time, right? And so like, if you thought about it from that perspective of like every single time, think about it.
Every time you move to a new strategy, think about it like starting over, like literally starting your, your business from scratch every single time you jump from one strategy and one focus to the next, that you, you may as well just like start all over, right? Because everything takes time. And so every time you start over, you’re like resetting that clock.
And there’s this feeling and I, I get it, I’ve been there, this feeling like, oh my gosh, like, but there’s gotta be a better way. And maybe if I sign up with this coach, right? Or maybe if I join this program.
But the thing is that you have to remember is that when you get focused and when you stick with one thing, one strategy, one coach, one program, one idea, when you stick with that, it doesn’t mean that you’re closing doors on everything else, right? It doesn’t mean that you’re never gonna go back to it. It doesn’t mean you have to do it forever. It doesn’t mean you’re locked in for life, right?
It means you’re closing the door to something right now for a period of time. And you can always go back and revisit that, right? You can watch it, see?
But why not take and see if you can create those same results by simply staying focused on one strategy, okay? Because again, every time you jump ship, you’re starting over, you’re resetting the clock, okay?
And if you feel like, well, the more strategies I try, the more successful I’ll be and the more, you know, and the more strategy I, I try, the more knowledge I’ll have, right? This is another one that I hear people all the time. Well, like, it’s not necessarily fomo, it’s that I just love to learn, right? I love to learn.
Well, loving to learn is also just Another way of saying, like, I’m afraid I’m going to miss out. I’m afraid somebody else is going to get ahead of me. I’m afraid somebody else is going to learn something that I don’t know. Right?
And the reality is, is you don’t have to know everything. You don’t have to learn. You don’t have to constantly be in this state of learning. You have learned enough. I can promise you that.
Like, I guarantee you have everything you need to know to grow your business, okay? You either just don’t trust it or you’re, you don’t have enough confidence in it.
But I, I’m telling you, you all have more knowledge and more experience and more to offer than you’re giving yourself credit for. And so when you have this scattered focus and this feeling of like, let me try this, let me try this. Well, what about this? What about this?
You’re creating this inefficiency, and so you’re trying to juggle all of these strategies and you’re trying to piece all these things together.
And I always explain, like, imagine taking five different puzzles and putting all the pieces into one big pile from all five puzzles and trying to make one complete puzzle out of it. You can’t do it. You’re never going to make a complete puzzle with pieces from five different puzzles. Right?
But so what makes you think you’re going to get a complete growth strategy or you’re going to see complete results when you’re literally piecing things together or you’re trying a little bit from this one, and you’re trying a little bit from this one, or you’re in this program and learning a little bit here. You’ toe in here and you’re dipping your toe in there.
It’s just distraction and it’s costing you time, it’s costing you clients, it’s costing you revenue, it’s costing you sales and all results, and it’s costing your, you like, your energy, your exhaustion, your mental health, too, because you can’t constantly be in this cycle of starting over and starting from scratch and learning something new. Like, it is a fast track to burnout, right? Because you’re not going to see the results.
You’re going to be exhausted from trying to learn everything, right? And so less is more. Less is more. Pick one strategy, one program. Every strategy works. I’ve said that a million times on this podcast.
If you’ve ever heard me speak at all, you’ve heard me say every strategy works, right? Somebody out there can prove it to you. They can prove to you that if you follow their program, it works.
But they are not all going to work for you, okay? And so less is more.
And you’ve got to learn to kind of shut the FOMO off and just put your blinders on and realize that you’re really not missing out on anything, right? What you’re missing out on is the results that you’re desiring because you’re jumping ship, okay?
When you have this constant state of like, am I missing something? Then you also can get into this state of analysis. Paralysis or decision fatigue, right?
And you’re afraid, like, if I make the wrong decision, maybe I shouldn’t have done this. You start second guessing yourself.
And when you’re second guessing yourself and when you’re running into all of these, like, paralysis and you’re stopping yourself at every turn, again, you can’t see results. You cannot see the results. Okay? But people live in this state. And I say I see it all the time where they’re like, yeah, but what about this?
And what about this and what about this? Right? And so I get it. It’s hard. We’re creatives. And so here’s what I want you to do, okay? I want you to take notes or think about this.
If you are living in this state of like, but what if? Right, but what if. But wait a second, Michelle, this person just said, right?
If you’re, if you’re thinking about this, and this is what I teach inside the Focus Visionary program, again, this is the strategy that works for me and this is the strategy that I teach. And so of course I can tell you it works. It may not work for everybody, but here’s what it. It’s all about is creating focus, right?
It’s finding whatever strategy that is. Do you to stick with a masterclass webinar, you know, funnel? Do you want to pick one program? Do you want to network? Do you want to create content?
Right? Whatever that is, whatever that program is. Do you want to offer day rates? Do you want to offer VIP days? Do you like retainer clients project, Right?
Like, again, this is what I’m saying. They all work. But there are a few things you need to do. Is one, you need to commit. You need to commit to something.
One thing, one product, one strategy. Commit. Just understand that you can commit to one thing.
And if you’re not sure what to commit to, this is what I always say and why it’s step one in my Focus Visionary framework is know your facts. If you are struggling and wondering if you’re Missing out.
And the easiest been best way to shut that noise off in your head and that chatter and all of those thoughts and those rambling thoughts is to go back to your business, to the facts, and look and see what worked. Look at all the different strategies you’ve tried and see which one has gotten you the best results. Maybe not the desired results.
Maybe you haven’t blown it out of the water, right? Maybe that’s why you’re saying, but none of them worked. Okay, again, go back and see how long did you actually give them a chance to work.
Go back to the data in your business and find the strategy that worked or find the one that got you the best results. Find the one that brought you the most joy. Find the one that felt the most aligned. All right? That is what is going to shut off all the noise.
I mean, and I will give you a perfect example of this. The biggest FOMO I ever have when it comes to my business is always and forever will be around content creation, right?
If I’ve invested, I can’t tell you how much in attraction marketing, content creation, content prompts, social media, like, all of the things. Because there’s so much noise out there about social media and content creation. And the reality is, is that it doesn’t work for me.
And so I always am feeling like, yes, but if you could just learn it, if you could just figure it out, like, you could attract all of these people. When in reality, I attract my audience by building relationships. And that is what I love.
That is what I love to do on this, you know, podcast, even in the podcast, like, there are certain strategies with podcasting that work so amazing for other people. And it converts clients. And I love to convert clients too. Right? We all do.
But, like, at the end of the day, the heart of everything I do is all about building relationships. I love to talk to people, get to know people, get to know the humans and really go deep with people. And so that’s what works for me.
And so I had to finally just say, like, I am not missing out on anything, right? That is what works for somebody else. It is not what works for me.
But don’t let me kid you when I say, like, as soon as somebody puts out a new offer of, like, create 300 pieces of content from this chat, GPT prompt or whatever, or let’s do a B roll, there’s. This is the new one I keep seeing is like, how to create, like hours of B roll footage in one day or whatever.
And I think to myself, oh, that would Be fun. Let me do that. And then I think, no, no, no, because you’re not going to stay consistent with that strategy, right?
And that’s the reality, is if you cannot stay consistent with it, then that’s what actually costs results, right? Consistency is what is costing you the results. Your clients need to see consistency. Your leads need to see consistency.
They need to see that you’re sticking with one thing. I’ve seen multiple coaches lately where they’re just bouncing from one thing to the next to the next.
They’re offering this program and then this program and then this one, and they got a group program and they’re offering one to one. And I get it. Buyer behavior is different right now.
But it makes it hard for people to make a decision when every time they turn around, they’re like, well, wait a second, I just wanted to sign up for that program. And now you’ve already moved on. It’s very hard. It’s difficult. And people need consistency. They need to see things over and over.
And so if you are looking to create more results, if you are looking to increase your sales, if you are looking to bring in more clients, then you’ve got to turn off this FOMO that you are living with, okay? I promise you that FOMO of wondering if there’s a next best strategy out there is actually costing you all the things that you are desiring.
Shut off the noise, right? Go back to the facts in your business, see what’s working.
Be honest with yourself in how much time you’ve put in to each strategy, and then commit at least 60 days, 90 days, 120 days. Like, commit more than. I mean, ideally it’d be six or eight months, right? But I get it. Life lives.
But like, commitment to a program or a strategy so that you can actually see the results and you can measure the results, don’t just say they didn’t work, right? How do you, like, do you have data that supports that? That.
That’s always the question I have is like, how do you know that it didn’t work if you didn’t try or you don’t have any, you know, you didn’t stay consistent with it long enough. All right? And so I really, really want to encourage you and tell you, I promise you, you’re not missing out on anything.
You do not need to buy that next program. Even my program that I’m promoting to you right now, the Focus Visionary. Right? The only thing is, the difference is, here we are, right?
Like, isn’t this so funny?
The difference is, is that my program actually teaches you how to focus and figure out what strategy works for you so that you can turn off all this noise and actually see the results, right? Like that is the true definition of the Focus Visionary accelerator.
It is still open for enrollment, but you have a very limited time to get in on it because we are going to close the doors for a couple months. So. But it really is, is like you cannot jump from one strategy to the next to the next, to the next, okay?
So don’t let FOMO actually cost you the things that you’re trying to achieve, right? You are not missing out. And if you. And here’s the other thing.
If you really are feeling like you cannot turn this noise off in your head, then block these people or turn them off, mute whatever it is you need to do. Unsubscribe from the list. Like if you, if you see these emails and it, it triggers you and it gets you to buy, then unsubscribe, right?
You can always resubscribe when maybe it’s the right time. But out of sight, out of mind, it really does work. I promise you, it really, really does work. So.
But you have to be willing to see that this is actually costing you, right? That is the question I want you to ask yourself is are you actually costing yourself?
The clients, the revenue, the results, the time, freedom, whatever you’re trying to achieve, are you actually costing yourself all of those results by simply having this inability to focus and stick to one strategy because you’re allowing FOMO to take over your life? It really can take over. And at some point you gotta just stop it. You gotta stop the cycle, okay? So stick with one thing.
I’m not gonna stop talking about it consistency, because it is so, so important. And when people maintain a level of consistency, everybody notices and the results come. All right? So go turn off the noise. Be honest with yourself.
Ask yourself the question, you know, what is FOMO costing me? Do I have fomo? And also ask yourself, like, where do these feelings come from? What’s stemming that? Right?
There’s something deeper there that’s actually causing those feelings of fomo. And maybe it’s simply just not knowing what to focus on. Maybe you really just don’t know.
How do you figure out what strategy is going to work for you? I can help you with that.
If that is really what is the deep rooted issue of fomo and you aren’t sure really truly what strategy is working or what strategy is actually giving you results and you’re not sure how to find that information in your business. I absolutely 1000% can help you with that. Okay. But you’ve got to be willing to look into it and figure out where are these feelings coming from?
Why are you living in this state of, like, always thinking you’re missing out on something? Okay, there’s more to it than that. All right. I love you. I believe in you. I will talk to you soon.
